Here is our list of Frequently Asked Questions:-
1. Q: Can I use FootyMail with Outlook and Outlook express?
Ans: Yes. FootyMail works perfectly with Outlook and Outlook express. It works with all POP3 email client software. The FootMail POP3 server is 'pop.footymail.com'. You login details are in your confirmation email or under your online account page.
2. Q: Can I use FootyMail without Outlook, for example if I go to a cybercafe or if I am travelling?
Ans: Yes. FootyMail also works like hotmail (known as webmail), where you retrieve all your emails in a browser on any machine connected to the Internet. This is done by clicking on the 'Get Email' button above.
3. Q: Can I use FootyMail with Outlook and with webmail?
Ans: Yes. FootyMail works perfectly with Outlook and webmail. When you use Outlook or Outlook express, it will download your emails. Then when you use webmail it will not show the emails you have already downloaded to Outlook, but the new emails you have received since you last downloaded to Outlook. It is important to remember that any emails sent through webmail, will not appear in your Outlook sent box. The best way to deal with this is to copy yourself on any emails you send with webmail.
4. Q: Will FootyMail remain free? If yes how will you make money?
Ans: We want to keep FootyMail free indefinitely. It is not our plan to suck you in and then charge you later. Some of our future services will be seen as premium services (e.g. real-time feeds to premiership games), which is where we can earn money. Also if we offer discount football related products we will earn commissions from the vendors. Finally if people visit our sponsors we will earn advertising revenue.
5. Q: What can the FootyMail email addresses be used for?
Ans: We expect you to be sensible and mature with the use of FootyMail addresses. By using the addresses you are agreeing to the 'Conditions of Use' (click on Conditions button above). If you use the addresses inappropriately they will be taken from you.
6. Q: What is the security around the emails and do you read them?
Ans: We do not read your email or give your email addresses to any 3rd parties. Your emails will have the same security as any other email sent on the Internet.
7. Q: How do I set up a FootyMail email in Outlook?
Ans: If you are already using Outlook you will have at least one email address set up. Your membership confirmation email will have all the details you need to setup your email in Outlook. The only thing to remember is that your ISP will provide you with your SMTP server details (this will be the same one you use with your current email details). For more details on setting up an email in Outlook, go to http://products.secureserver.net/email/email_outlook.htm
8. Q: What if I have a question that is not answered here?
Ans: You can send us an email with your question and we can answer it. We will also post it here if it is a good question. To send us any emails click on the 'Contact Us' button above.
